KRIS PATEL, 27

Chief Financial Officer, HOS Management

Childhood dream: I always wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps and get involved in our family business of hospitality management and hotel development. There’s something about the risks and rewards of running and growing a business that’s absolutely thrilling.

Best piece of business advice: Never grow outside of your bounds. I think it’s very important to be cautious with what you put on your plate.

Morning ritual: I read through the latest headlines and emails on my phone, and then I use the 10-15 minute drive to the office as my quiet time to mentally plan out my day and focus on what needs to get accomplished in the next 12 hours.

How Savannah can become the best version of itself: Growing up in Savannah, I feel like I’ve seen our city evolve into a place that is on the cusp of something really great. We need to continue to evolve our way of thinking, throw out old and antiquated business practices, and stay out of the way of community leaders who get it.
