Brittany Curry is changing how people listen, learn, and lead in real time with her live drawing.

Graphic recorder and facilitator Brittany Curry, or “Inky Brittany” as she’s known, has been redefining how we see and experience conversations for more than a decade. With a marker in hand or an iPad at the ready, she captures ideas in real-time, transforming them into vibrant visual stories — an artifact to help reflect on what’s transpired, invite feedback, and memorialize what matters.

“One of the challenges I face is framing what many people see as ‘art’ in a different way,” says Curry. “It’s not about art, it’s about making organizational communication more efficient, transparent, and democratic.”

Curry’s unique ability to illustrate events by hand has attracted clients such as Microsoft, Keurig, Dr. Pepper, and the Georgia Department of Education. In September 2025, she attended and recorded Savannah magazine’s annual Best of Savannah party. She began as she always does: with research, diving into 35 years of the magazine’s history, talking with team members (in this case, those who have worked at the magazine, collectively, for decades), and understanding the goals of the gathering.

After research, Curry begins to sketch — sometimes on paper, sometimes digitally — mapping out the flow of ideas. Once the event begins, she draws in real time, blending text and imagery to capture the moment.

In 2023, Curry took the TEDxSavannah stage with a talk titled “Drawing Connections,” reflecting on how illustration can elevate unheard voices and foster inclusive communication. It was a fitting spotlight for someone whose mission is to turn complexity into clarity through creativity.
Because whether on a wall or sketched on-screen, Curry’s graphics aren’t just beautiful — they’re intentional. In a world overloaded with information, she offers a rare skill: simplifying the complex and making meaning visible.
