A Taste of the Town

The 9th Annual Taste of Savannah

LAST NIGHT TIM AND I
were active participants at the 9th Annual Taste of Savannah, "Jazz ... the Soul Ingredient."  Tim was one of the tasting judges for the event, and I was working for the magazine, shooting photos for City Seen

We saw so many of our friends! What I thought would be an enjoyable evening, turned out to be a really fun one.

The Savannah International Trade & Convention Center was the perfect venue for the tasting event. There was ample room for the many booths and people could comfortably wander the exhibit hall noshing and drinking to their heart's content. With the exception of one or two impatient people who didn't want to wait in line, I observed a crowd of people who were very considerate. There was plenty of food and drink for everyone.

Tim's most memorable moment of the evening was when Chef Roger Michel at Aqua Star made Bananas Foster for me from scratch (it was one of my favorite moments, too).

I also enjoyed meeting Gnate the Gnat for the first time and trying a hot dog (the dogs won "best novelty food" and I can understand why).

I was thrilled to see Sarah Copeland from Lib Lines, the Volen family of The Distillery, Colonel Robert Hunter of Old Town Trolley, and our former intern, Jacob Crawley, his mom, Michelle, and his girlfriend Kristen McBride.

Tim and I stayed at the Westin and I was very impressed with the service, the showers (two heads are definitely better than one) and the comfortable beds. I told the desk clerk that we might just have to come back, even though we live in Savannah.

I'd like to tip my hat to the Tourism Leadership Council for a job well done, and I look forward to the 10th Annual Taste of Savannah.

Yours,
Miss T. J.
