WE REALLY DO award contest prizes! Just ask Joy Botkin of Savannah whose name was picked today to win a giant basket of candy from River Street Sweets! I picked it up this morning from the Skidaway Road location where I was lucky enough to run into owner Jennifer Strickland. 

While I was there, I was able to witness "Santa's candy elves" who were bustling upstairs in the shop to guarantee holiday delivery for their customers. 

     It felt like Christmas for the first time. 

With smells of caramel corn and pralines and chocolate, my senses were overloaded with the spirit of all things that are simple and delicious this time of year.
