THERE IS ABSOLUTELY no better place to be during springtime than in Savannah, Georgia.  Now there is the matter of the pollen, but we can't have everything!  And I often feel, in the case of our climate, days of sunshine, and overall beauty -- we really do have it all.

So, Savannahians and visitors, it's time to get out there and enjoy it.  Whether you are on foot, scooter, bicycle or skateboard, you won't want to miss our spectacular city of color and joy!

Next week-end, I'll be at the Roundhouse Railroad Museum at the Garden Expo representing Savannah Magazine.  I plan to bring my camera to get some shots of people enjoying themselves. For more information, visit
www.savannahgardenexpo.com or call 236-4795.

For those of you who want to get a peek at some of Savannah's hidden gardens, don't miss the NOGS Tour! (NOGS stands for North of Gaston Street.) For tickets, call 961-4805 or visit
www.gcofsavnogstour.org

And, if you don't want to engage in a group event, just put on your walking shoes and head for downtown Savannah.  Walk through our squares, pop in one of our many coffee shops for a cool or hot drink, and don't forget to stop into our great shops for the latest "whatever" or something more classic to fit your personality.

Yes, we are in a recession (blah, blah, blah), but that doesn't mean you can't get outside and have some fun. The old adages, "The best things in life are free," and "The best things in life aren't things," can best be realized when walking down a beautiful Savannah lane, in all its colorful, natural splendor.

Yours,
Miss T. J.
