Through August 31: “Persian Visions: Contemporary Photography from Iran.” The first survey of contemporary Iranian photography to tour the U.S., providing a rare and revealing view of Iranian life and experiences.
Through August 31: “Counter Photography: Japan’s Artists Today.” Works by 11 contemporary Japanese artists. The exhibition challenges many commonly-held beliefs about the nature of photography. -

Description:The Savannah College of Art and Design announces its 11th annual Scholarship Gala. Proceeds from the evening go to the SCAD scholarship endowment, which supports existing scholarships and creates new scholarships for the talented students at SCAD.
The gala is a festive evening for community members to gather and show their support of the arts. The evening features a silent auction of hand-selected artwork - photography, painting, jewelry, sculpture - by SCAD students, alumni, faculty and staff.
6:30pm for VIP buy-it-now option/8pm for patrons
Individual patron tickets are $150 and include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music by the Atlanta-based band, Kingsized, and the silent auction. Individual VIP reception tickets are $250 and include the added features of a private cocktail party, silent auction preview and buy-it-now option for artwork.

Each restaurant will offer a small plate paired with two wines and feature an original piece by a local artist that may be acquired by auction to a tour guest.
Each tour will also visit the Iocovozzi Gallery where guests will be privileged to an exclusive photography
