Reframing a Perceptual Paradigm
Presented by the Telfair Museum of Art
This site-specific, multi-gallery installation by Savannah resident and nationally-recognized artist Jerome Meadows will feature his work in combination with select objects from the Telfair's collection to reinterpret and reframe the traditional views of the museum’s permanent collection. Meadows will utilize a mix of paintings, historic furniture, decorative arts, and prints from the museum’s collection, which will be presented in a series of assembled settings. These objects will be juxtaposed with original works fabricated by Meadows as visual commentary, and with altered and enlarged photographic reproductions. Meadows will also draw upon the frame as a visual metaphor, utilizing a selection of the more decorative sort as independent components—removed, reconsidered, deconstructed, and realigned.

The exhibition includes a "Free Week" event April 27-30 and a free evening lecture by Meadows April 30 at 6 p.m..

Gatorland brings a 4-foot gator to share with the audience. Participants will learn about gators, their folklore, their habits and safety procedures. You will be able to have your picture taken with an alligator after the program.

Join in with the staff and volunteers of Fort McAllister as we play 19th century games. Games will include real wheelbarrow races, tater sack races and Civil War baseball. Pack a lunch and bring the kids.

Cost: $5.00 for adults and $3.50 for kids.
