Reserve your seats now for The Art of Great Fashion—the first fashion event of the new year. Meredith Gray provides the details.
If you saw artist Marcus Kenney’s stunning, sculptural collaboration with Gaucho and B Street Salon last year, you already know that the Telfair Academy Guild’s annual fashion show has seriously taken things up a notch. In short, it’s living up to its name.
Designed to coincide with the Telfair Museums’ stunning winter exhibition, Offering of the Angels: Paintings and Tapestries from the Uffizi Gallery, this year’s Carnevale-themed show celebrates the design influence of Renaissance Italy.
Recognized creative talents from Savannah’s art, fashion and design communities are creating one-of-a-kind masks to pair with a runway collection from Savannah native Kathi Rich’s eponymous, eclectic boutique. Monica McMasters and her B Street Salon team will unveil dramatic hair and makeup to match.
Masks by local artists will also be available for silent auction—all for the excellent cause of supporting the South’s oldest art museum.
Shuttles to the Landings will be available from the Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center on the night of the event, and Kathi Rich will hold a “Morning After” sale at The Landings’ Plantation Clubhouse the next day. All clothing and jewelry from the runway (as well as supplemental sizes) will be 10 percent off.
January 21 at 6:30 p.m. $85 general admission/$125 patrons/$250 grand patrons. The Landings Club Plantation. 790-8860. Get your tickets here>>
